Fit and Care Advice

According to recent press, the majority of women, up to 80%, are wearing the wrong bra size. Usually the back size is too large and the cup size is too small. Women often wear the wrong size, as they are not sure how the bra should look and feel.
This advice is designed to help the wearer find the right size for them so that they will feel comfortable and well supported.
It is also worth noting that one style of bra may be perfect for one woman and totally wrong for another, even if they are the same size. Different styles should be tried to find the most suitable one.
Wearing the wrong bra size can cause many problems including:
  • Neck Ache
  • Shoulder Ache
  • Back Ache
  • Skin irritation caused by straps digging in
  • Irreversible damage to ligaments can cause breast pain and sagging
  • Wires can stick into the breast tissue, causing unnecessary pressure and discomfort
Wearing the right size bra will:
  • Be comfortable
  • Be supportive
  • Lift the bust revealing the waist to give a slimmer appearance
  • Fill the woman with confidence
  • Create a better posture and a smooth silhouette under clothing

How To Measure

Bras

Band Size
Take a measuring tape and measure the length  around your rib cage directly below your bust.  Make sure the measuring tape is straight and flat across your back and parallel to the floor.  Pull the tape measure snugly around you.  Round up to the next even number to get your band size.
Here's another shocker about bras that most women have never heard: When trying on a bra before buying, always hook the band on its loosest fitting. Why? Depending on the fabric, bras can stretch up to two inches in the back with wear and washing, and this technique will let you tighten the band as the time goes on.

Cup Size
Standing with your arms at your sides, measure around your body at the fullest part of your bust, parallel to the floor.  Round this number up or down to the nearest whole inch.  Subtract your band size measurement from the second larger measurement.  The difference is your cup size, as listed in the chart below.  Example: 36" ( bust measurement) - 34"(band size) = 2" or according to the chart a B cup.

Don’t machine wash your bras – Hand wash them in warm water with your usual washing powder instead.
Briefs are OK to go in a 40 degree wash, but make sure you wash similar colours together.
Don’t put any of your lingerie in the tumble dryer – drip dry your bras and pants instead.
Don't bleach
Don't Iron
Don’t dry clean your lingerie either.
Follow these simple guidelines and your lingerie will be fabulous for ages!
